The Arnprior Lions Club has been serving the needs of the Arnprior Community for nearly 60 years. During this time, the Arnprior Lions Club has raised money that has supported many projects. A few of the more recent projects were:CURRENT PROJECTSCNIB PresentationSept. 10/09 - In the photo below, Lion President, Rob Brooks, presents CNIB representatives Tara Meredith and Kerry Durant, with a cheque for $400 to be used for services for the blind and visually impaired.
NO CHILD WITHOUTThe Arnprior Lions have teamed up with Medic Allert in the following program to fund children who are in need of a medic allert bracelet ARNPRIOR & DISTRICT MEMORIAL HOSPITALIn 2005, the Arnprior Lions Club in conjunction with the Arnprior McNab Lions Club and Lions Clubs International, raised $162,000 for a patient monitoring system.
PAST PROJECTSØ Robert Simpson Park – Initiated the make-over of the park with the building of the $75,000 pavilion. Ø Fire Hall & Police Station (new) – Donated $25,000 to help get the project off the ground. Ø Canada Day - took over the sponsorship and organizing of the Canada Day Car Show. Ø Arnprior Fair – Supervise the entry gates for the Arnprior Agricultural Society. Ø Scouts Canada – Support the local Boy Scouts. Ø Community Needs – The Arnprior Lions Club supports many other community causes. These range from aiding individuals in medical need, supporting our youth with school awards and donations to the Youth Centre, providing funding for groups such as sports organizations and more! |
